Bidar: Two friends, who had gone for a swim in the canal of Karanja Reservoir drowned near Kanaji in Bhalki Taluk on Sunday December 11.
The deceased have been identified as Basavaraj Shivalinga Budhe (18) of Katti Thoogaon Village and Sainath Shivakumar Sanganabashette (18) of Kanaji Village.
Due to the release of excess water from the reservoir into the canal, the flow has increased and they were washed away due to the pull of water. The bodies have been fished out and subjected to postmortem.
CPI Veeranna Doddamani visited the spot and a case has been registered at Dhannur Police Station.
