Bellary: The Special CBI Court has granted 10-day conditional bail to TH Suresh Babu, the Kampli legislator arrested on charges of illegal mining and theft of ore from Belekeri port in Karwar.

Babu has been granted bail so that he can attend to his ailing mother.He arrived at Bellary on April 27 and will stay at his home till May 5.

According to the sources the court has directed him not to appear in public.

Suresh Babu was arrested by the CBI in connection with the case relating to securing bail for his business partner-cum-mentor G Janardhan Reddy in August 2012. He was summoned by the CBI for questioning and later arrested. Suresh Babu was allegedly involved in stealing and exporting over 8 lakh tonnes of iron ore from Belekeri port.
