Bellary: Karnataka made history by celebrating the 70th Independence Day in a never seen before way on Monday, August 15.
More than 5,000 students and teachers joined hands to carry a 3500-foot long, 6-foot wide tricolour for a procession. The rally started from DC office and reached district stadium and it culminated at the Royal circle, Mothi circle. The procession was organised by the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI).
The flag is said to be the longest national flag ever taken out on Independence Day in the country. Various programmes were held on the occasion and sweets were distributed.
