Aurad: Police seized 29.480 tonnes of ration rice from a truck en route to Telangana near a local agricultural produce market. The case of illegal rice smuggling was uncovered following a tip-off when authorities inspected a lorry two days ago.
536 bags of rice were confiscated from the lorry, with an estimated total value of Rs 8.54 lakh. In connection with this, four individuals, including the lorry driver, have been arrested, and a case has been filed at the local police station.
