Hubballi: People with vested interests and terrorists who have hijacked religion, are involved in spreading divisive ideologies to achieve their vested interests, said Director of Mangaluru-based Shanti Prakashana Mohammed Kunhi.

Delivering a talk on, “Id Souharda Koota” organised by the Hubballi branch of Jamat-e-Islami Hind here on July 2 night, Mohammed Kunhi said that as arms dealers were controlling the world, they were more interested in increasing market for their products and so were encouraging divisive politics.

“To increase their sales, the arms dealers are supporting divisive politics. We have to understand these ploys to live peacefully in society,” he said adding that all of us need to unite to save religion from the clutches of these forces.

“Interaction among people and communities is very much needed to ensure lively society. When religion becomes a mystery and is hidden, then it will lead to the fall of humanity.

Humanity is a message that stands beyond all religions and it is humanity that made people respond to pain and grief”, he said.

Mayor D K Chavan, Director of KLE Society Shankranna Munavalli, President of Dharwad Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishat Lingaraj Angadi, neurosurgeon Kranti Kiran, and office-bearers of Jamate-e-Islami Hind were present.
