Hubballi: With name of Belagavi (Rural) MLA Sanjay Patil’s name flashing in sensational Rakshitha Jain murder case, the BJP has decided to initiate an internal probe to ascertain the role of Patil in the case.
BJP State President Prahlad Joshi has said that Patil has been asked about his side of the story, and he has responding saying that he had only chatted with Rakshitha over Facebook and whatsapp.
Refuting charges of having illegitimate relation with her, Patil has reportedly told the party that he was ready for any kind of inquiry in the case.
The internal probe report will be submitted to the Party High Command, said Joshi.
Meanwhile, Patil has clarified that he has no connection to the murder case and that he is unaware of the intention behind the murder.
“This is a political conspiracy to frame in this case. I knew the lady in question, but our acquaintance was confined to phone calls and messages. When she went missing, her father did contact me. I had instead contacted Mysuru police and requested them to do the needful,” said the MLA.
Dead body of a married woman named Rakshitha Jain, a resident of Ramakrishna Nagar in Mysuru was spotted near Channapatna in a charred state, few days after she went missing on March 11.
Soon, speculation and rumours started making rounds and Patil’s name was heard as soon as the murder news was out.
After a few days, Arjun (28), her driver was nabbed. As per his revelation, he had an affair with Rakshitha and the latter had started neglecting him after she developed closeness with a particular MLA from North Karnataka.
