Hubballi: Commenting on a statement made by former Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa regarding solving the Kalasa-Banduri issue within 24-hours, Basavaraj Horatti said that if the former is given leadership, he will provide him with full support in the solving the farmer’s issue.
Speaking to the media, Horatti said that unlike in Goa, all political parties including the JD(S) here have failed to exhibit unity over the issue and everyone was trying to gain political mileage. Such agitations would yield success only when they were fought on apolitical grounds.
“Every political party trying to take advantage of the farmer’s agitation was weakening the movement”, he said.
Expressing his support, Horatti said that Yedyurappa is welcome to join protest in solving Kalasa Banduri issue. “But he should not do it for his party benefit”, JD(S) vidhana Parishad member said, on Sunday.
The State and the Centre have to articulate their stand over this issue, instead of making flaying remarks and keeping farmers confused, he added.
He also denied the allegations that he was involved in seizing BJP leader Prahlad Joshi’s house. “I have not sent anyone to protest or seize Joshi’s house. My agitation is without any party difference”, he said.
