Mangalore: Mangalore sees yet another accident on the road, this time in Surathkal, where a six year old girl from Mitrapatna in Mukka was returning from NITK only to be crushed under a truck.
The girl, identified as Manvi, was on the scooter with her father Sridar, riding on the service road past the Mukka Indian Petrol pump when a truck brushed past the two-wheeler from behind, throwing the girl off immediately, putting her under the wheels of the moving truck.
Both the girl and the injured father were taken to AJ hospital. Sadly, the girl did not survive the accident. Witnesses at the scene came forward to confront the truck driver who had run over the girl. However, the Surathkal police reached the spot by then to arrest the driver and take custody of the vehicle.
