Youth from Padubidri electrocuted on train top in Mumbai

Padubidri/Mumbai: A youth hailing from Padubidri, in Udupi district was charred to death after he got in touch with overhead high tension wire, while travelling on a train top, in Mumbai on Sunday.

Alangaru Guthu Nivedan Shetty (40), son of Late Gunapal Shetty is the deceased.

Shetty, a body-builder was working as a gym trainer in Singapore and had reportedly come to Mumbai on 15 days leave.

He had headed to Dombivili to send a parcel to his friend on Sunday, but since it was the Maharastrian New Year, the trains were full and Shetty, who was standing on
Platform No-3 Shetty had decided to climb up a train to reach Dadar. While traveling on the train top, Shetty, who is about 6.3 ft in height came in contact with live high tension wire and got charred to death.

Shetty had acted in a movie named ‘Kanda’ with actor Vinod Raj. His liking for acting and Bollywood and brought him to Mumbai.

However, here a common friend who saw his knowledge in body building took him to Singapore as an instructor. Only six months ago, he had gone to Singapore on a two year contract for a company.

In December 2015, his older brother Nischal Shetty died in a road mishap at Kaup.
