Karkala: A woman gave birth to a healthy baby girl in 108 Ambulance near Mulky.

Leelavati (29), wife of Vivek developed labour pain and was taken to the taluk government hospital. To avoid complications, the doctors advised her family members to shift her to Lady Goschen Hospital in Mangaluru. While on the way, she delivered a baby boy.

The mother and child were later admitted to Lady Goschen.

It is said that the ambulance staff took Leelavati’s family into confidence and helped her deliver the baby.

The staffers have bagged appreciation for their presence of mind and timely intervention.
