Udupi: Unidentified persons robbed Rs 2.7 Lakh cash from a “More” supermarket located at Manipal in early hours of Monday, March 13.

The miscreants wearing helmets came on a motorcycle and robbed cash and coupons from the supermarket threatening the manager Praveen with a pistol. They also attacked Praveen inflicting injuries on his ear.

The robbery took place moments after the shop opened in the morning. Since it was just after the weekend, the cash in the supermarket was not deposited in the bank and the robbers were well-informed of it.

The Manipal police have lauched a probe and are verifying CCTV footage from other places near to the supermarket.
