Udupi: A woman died by suicide by hanging herself as she did not have a house of her own.

The deceased has been identified as Gowri (70), a native of Kodagu, who was working as a domestic help in a flat in Manipal. She left her house at around 4.00 pm on Monday February 13 and returned home around 8.30 am on Tuesday February 14. So the workman told her that if she continues to do the same, they would send her back home.

Of the four children of the deceased, the first son and second daughter Rajamma and her husband had already passed away and the deceased was frustrated with life as she did not have any house of her own. On Tuesday she tied a nylon saree to the cane link of the terrace where she worked and hanged herself around her neck and then fell from the building and died.

A case has been registered at Manipal Police Station.
