Udupi : Transport officials from the Regional Transport Office (RTO) carried out a series of raids targeting bike and car rental services in Udupi, including Manipal.Led by K T Halaswamy, the joint transport commissioner of Shivamogga division, along with RTO and motor vehicle department officials, the inspections were prompted by complaints regarding unauthorized rental operations.
Approximately 10 to 15 illegally operating rental cars were inspected and confiscated, while legal action was taken against the operators. Additionally, warning notices were issued to them.
During the process, two establishments were shut down by the officials.
