Udupi: In a rain mishap, water seeped into the old building causing an electric short circuit at a Urdu school in Kaup Town of the District.
Maulana Azad School walls have cracked and the roof tiles of some of the rooms have also flown off due to the recent rains and heavy winds. Hence water seeped into the classrooms causing an electrical short circuit.
However, in the nick of time the students rushed out of the classrooms and sat outside. The autorickshaw drivers of Mallaru – Pakeeranakatte, who got the information of the incident, rushed to the school and took all children back to their homes free of cost.
Member of Town Municipality Nooruddin, Former President of Mallaru Gram Panchayat Sadiq Mohammed and Social workers Rasheed emptied the water inside the classrooms.
Village Accountant Mathai visited the spot and inspected the building.
