Udupi: Deputy Commissioner M. Kurma Rao on Wednesday March 16 said that prohibitory orders have been imposed in the District as a preventive measure following the State High Court (HC) verdict upholding the hijab ban.

Kurma Rao has asked the citizens to co-operate with the District Administration to maintain peace and harmony. He called on people to respect the verdict.

Meanwhile, Muslim groups in the State have given a call for bandh on Thursday March 17 against State HC’s verdict on Hijab issue.
