Udupi: The relentless heavy rains over the past two to three days have resulted in numerous houses being completely submerged in water near Bylakare and Kalsanka, close to the Krishnamatha parking lot in Udupi. As a result, the residents of the affected areas have been evacuated to ensure their safety and well-being.

Under the guidance of District Fire Officer Vasanth Kumar, Assistant Fire Brigade Officer Mir Mohammed Ghouse, and their team, the evacuation process was efficiently carried out. Their swift action and coordination have been instrumental in ensuring the residents’ safety during this challenging situation.

Various local leaders and officials also played an active role in the evacuation efforts. Ramesh Kanchan, President of Udupi Block Congress Committee, along with Girish Anchan, a member of the Kunjibettu Municipal Council, extended their support. Former Corporators Shashiraj Kunder, R.K. Ramesh Poojary, as well as Shivalli Village Accountant Pramod and Pradeep Sherigar, joined hands with Sunil Bailakare, Sandesh Devadiga, Pranam, Suhas, Sampath, Raghavendra, and Sanjay Acharya to provide assistance and aid during the evacuation process.

The collective efforts of these individuals have been crucial in ensuring that the affected residents receive the necessary support and assistance during this challenging time. Authorities and local organizations are closely monitoring the situation and providing the required resources to aid in the recovery and rehabilitation process.

As heavy rains continue to lash the region, it is essential for residents in low-lying areas and those living near water bodies to remain vigilant and follow the instructions issued by local authorities. The safety and well-being of the community remain the top priority, and concerted efforts are being made to mitigate the impact of the floods and provide relief to those affected.

Residents are urged to stay updated with the latest information from official sources and cooperate with the instructions and guidelines provided by the authorities. With continued support and proactive measures, the community can overcome these challenges and work towards rebuilding and restoring the affected areas.
