Udupi: The police has arrested six persons for duping people by promising them foreign currency.
The accused have been identified as Mohammed Polash Khan (42), a resident of Laxmi Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, Mohammad Bilal Shaikh (43) of Indiranagar in Mumbai, Mohammad Firoz (30), a resident of North East Delhi in West Bengal, Noor Mohammad (36), a resident of Faridabad in Haryana, and Miraj Khan (32) and Mohammad Jahangir (60) of East Delhi.
Police have recovered foreign currency notes, 19 mobile phones, Rs. 629,000 in cash, three bikes and 30 SIM cards from them. The six inter-state thieves were allegedly duping and extorting money from people in Brahmavar and Kota Police Station limits.
