Udupi candidates crack UPSC exam; Nitish gets 8th rank

Udupi: UPSC on Saturday announced its civil services exam results.  Nitish K, an engineering graduate from PES Institute of Engineering, Bengaluru, managed to feature in top 10 AIR list in his third attempt. Son of K Ramakrishna Hebbar, an employee of Karnataka Bank and Bharati, a homemaker, Nitish hails from Kukkehalli in Perdur of Udupi district.

UPSCRanjith Shenoy with 391 and Priya Shetty  with 931rank who got coaching at Udupi itself made the district proud.  

Nitish secured 8th rank out of  1,236 selected candidates from across the country for appointment to IAS, IPS, IFS and other central services.

A total of 9 lac members attended the UPSC examinations in December 2014 out of which 16,933 candidates qualified for the main examination. A total of 1,236 rank list is been declared.

Nithish attempted this year’s exam with better aim, in the previous attempt he was able to gain 547th ranking in 2013. He said “it was my childhood dream to become an IAS officer, Serve the poor with my best capacity”, he said.

Ranjith R Shenoy’s parents, Dr Rajgopal shenoy and Dr Anitha Shenoy from KMC, Manipal said “It was Ranjith’s first attempt and because of his hardwork and dedication he is successful to get 391 rank”.

It was Priya Shetty’s third attempt, is a daughter of agrarian parents. She did her BSc, graduation from MGM in the year 2011. she credited her success to her hard work and passion towards IAS service.
