Udupi: Water from wells has been contaminated due to unscientific drainage construction at Venkataramana Layout near Karamballi in Udupi.

The whole environment is stinking due to dirty water. The locals have decided to boycott the elections as the repairs have not been done despite repeated complaints from local MLAs and officials.

Congress candidate from Udupi assembly constituency Prasad Raj Kanchan visited the area and took stock of the problems faced by the locals.

This situation has been created due to an unscientific sewerage project. The city council demanded that it be repaired immediately.
He threatened to sit on a dharna in front of the city council along with the public if the issue was not resolved.
