Udupi: All preparations are being made for the elections across the District. We will provide basic amenities to all the 1,111 booths in the District. We have deployed constituency-wise returning officers. There are 10,29,678 voters in the District, said District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao M.

Speaking at press conference here, he said There are 17,927 young voters in the District and 11,751 PWD voters. We have prepared a list of people above 80 years of age. As many as 31,286 voters in the District are above 80 years of age, including 5,865 in Byndoor, 6,209 in Kundapur, 7,827 in Udupi, 5,778 in Kaup and 5,589 in Karkala, he said.

“They also have access to postal voting. This is not mandatory. We will also make necessary arrangements for those who come to the polling booth on the polling day to cast their votes. We will also provide necessary facilities to specially abled voters,” he said.
