Udupi: The organs of a 38-year-old accident victim who was declared brain dead in the District have helped save lives of six persons.

The deceased has been identified as Naveen, a resident of Kokkarne of Brahmavara Taluk. He met with an accident on Wednesday June 8 and was severely injured. He was admitted to Kasturba Medical Hospital, Manipal on Thursday June 9. Naveen was declared brain dead. Following his death Naveen’s wife and family members expressed their willingness to donate organs.

Kidneys, liver, corneas/eyeballs, and skin were donated to save six lives.
