Three passengers nabbed with Rs. 1.65 crore in Udupi Railway station

Udupi: Three persons were arrested by the Railway Police at Indrali Railway station while carrying unaccounted money summing up to Rs. 1.65 crore, from Ernakulam (Kerala), bound train no 16345, during weekend hours of Friday, November 2.

As per the details, three persons of Rajasthan origin were travelling in an air-conditioned bogie of Netravathi Express at 4.30 am. The Railway police found their behaviour to be suspicious and searched their luggage. During the search, the police found Rs 1.65 cr in their bag.

The police found anomalies in the names told by the three and the names mentioned in their tickets. The three said that they were in possession of the cash to purchase land. However, further investigations will be held specially to ascertain if there is a connection between the three and the by-elections in the state.
