Udupi: The Toastmasters movement in the coastal region witnessed the birth of a new club, namely, the Udupi Toastmasters Club. This is a trilingual unique club in Udupi, formed with the intention of helping the members improve their communication skills in three languages: English, Kannada, and Tulu. The club had its Charter Ceremony in Hotel Diana on Sunday, July 23, 2023.
Shilpa Shetty, the co-founder of Ishna Playschool, became the club’s Charter President. In her acceptance speech, she shared her vision for the club.
Area Director Rashmika Rajaram installed the Executive Committee, which included: Shruthi Shenoy (Vice President, Education), Dr Vijay Negalur (Vice President, Membership), Laxmi Acharya (Vice President, Public Relations), Ranjeeth Shetty (Secretary), Laxmisha Rao (Treasurer) and Hariprasad (Sergeant At Arms). The Charter Members were inducted by the Division Director, Sapna Shenoy, from Mangalore.
Shylaja Rao, General Partner of Ventana Ventures and Ex-COO of Robosoft was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. In her address, she spoke about the importance of communication and requested the clubs to help the students of government schools improve their communication skills.
Kaniska Shetty gave the welcome speech. Ranjeeth Shetty, the founder of Ishna Playschool, Sponsor, and Mentor of the club, spoke about how this club was formed. Hariprasad introduced the Chief Guest. Rajalaxmi Shetty gave a vote of thanks. Dr Gurumurthy, an assistant professor from MIT, was the Master of Ceremonies.
