Udupi: An awareness campaign organized by the Students’ Islamic Organization (SIO) of India, Udupi, in association with Dr A V Baliga Memorial Hospital, was inaugurated by Jayaprakash Hegde, former MP, on Wednesday December 10, at Hotel Durga International.
‘A Critical Review on my Lifestyle’ , was the theme of the event, which addressed the recent social evils the youth face.

Hegde, in his address he said, “The youth of our generation need to adhere to their goals and focus according to the guidelines in order they have a smooth life.”
Dr PV Bandary, Director of Dr AV Baliga Memorial Hospital on the occasion said, “Teenage is a mystifying age, it’s the time when the body and mind of a teenager faces massive changes”
He also spoke on the topic -‘Where am I Heading? A Critical Review of My Lifestyle’
Few people cannot hold their internal changes calmly, thus they get provoked on certain things which may lead to fights among families and other members of the society.
The curiosity to learn new things the courage to get what they want at a time lead them to wrongs. Under such circumstances, they tend to accept few ways like pressures to perform, pressure to reform and pressure to confirm.
“Addiction can be controlled through the 3As—awareness, analysis, and action. Success is a journey not a destination,” he stressed.
He concluded by giving tips to success such as the 5Ds—dream (desire), discipline, determination, dedication, and determination.
The organization plans to have many constructive and awareness creation programmes such as conducting ‘Jatha’, cycle rally, street play, and so on.
