Karkala: NITTE group organised Swach Bharath Abhiyan of Central government here on October 2.

Social activist N Ashok Adyanthaya inaugurating the programme said that India can shine as clean nation when this particular abhiyan is extended to every House, institution, village, city and then nationwide.

The students of NITTE have inspired locals by cleaning the surroundings. This abhiyan should not be limited for one day instead should be a continued process.

Technical Mahavidyala principal Dr Niranjan N Chippunkar presided over the function.

During the programme vice-principal and dean Dr I Ramesh Mithranthaya, registrar Yogish Hegde, student welfare officer Shekhar Poojary, assistant director Uma Shankaran, principals, lecturers and students from various colleges participated in the abhiyan.
