Karkala: Taking note of the fact that accidents on roads are on the rise and that restless driving is the main reason behind the same, the III yr Electronics and Communications Diploma students of Ujire Prasanna Polytechnic College have developed a unique equipment that can become an effective solution.
If the equipment designed by the students Sayyed Salman Arif, Mohommed Ashraf, Lokesh M, sudarshan, Yathish B acts as speed controller and if installed in the vehicle, the equipment brings down the speed of the vehicle automatically in accident-prone areas.

If the equipment is installed in every vehicle, then a ‘signal controller’ will have to be installed at sign boards so that through the GPS, these signal controllers can send signals to the equipment in the vehicle to slow the speed down.

The students were supported and encouraged by Principal H M Patil, project guide Diploma in I&C Lecturer Karthik Rathod and others.
