Udupi: After a week long cloudy weather, it seems nature has given way to celebrate 68th Independence day celebration in the district.
Minister Incharge Vinay Kumar Sorakke hoisted the Tricolour Flag, inspected a guard of honour and took the salute at a march past, on Friday, August 15.





The colourful parades and cultural programes grabbed the eye balls of the onlookers. 20 educational institutions participated in the parade.
Sorake later addressed the crowd and said, it is our duty to respect our nation. Children are the future of the nation and they should understand the value of the nation.Mahathma Gandhiji’s dream nation should be the ultimate goal of every citizens
The most successful schemes of the government Anna Bhagya, Ksheera Bhagya and Manaswini were successfully launched in the state also Rs 199 lac had been released for the monthly pension for Endosulfan victims.
He also stated about further schemes such as sports ground to the district, university sub centre at Thenkanadiyooru for the betterment of the students. To create awareness about the heritage ‘Prachya Prajne’ a special programme will be implemented soon.
