Udupi: “Section 94 C of Land Reform Act helps people to get title deeds in villages, Section 94CC will be helpful for the urban people. A requisition for the same has been sent for approval”, informed Vinay Kumar sorake, Urban Development Minister during KDP meeting at ZP on Friday October 10.

Addressing various issue, the minister said that under the Rajiv Gandhi Vasati Nigam, for development charges for layouts were Rs 450 ,however currently, under the initiative of the present government it has increased up to Rs 3000.

Ration card trial

Responding to the allegations, that applying for a ration card was a huge trial, after the  EPIC card and Aadhar card numbers were made mandatory, Sorake made it clear that only the EPIC Number will be sufficient to apply for  ration cards.

He said that the issue is been taken up with the Food and Civil Supplies minister and the Commissioner to make EPIC card mandatory for ration card.

Other development Initiatives

The minister added that Rs 10 crore is spent for building sea walls against erosion including previous years pending amount. Rs. 17 crore was lost because of heavy rain in the month of August. The district received 211 mm additional rainfall during the month.

Rs 38 crore is released to PWD for work on the national highway, Rs 18 crore for State highways,  Additionally, Rs. 39 crore was released from NABARD for  district roads and Rs 23 crore for  bridges improvement.

Including PWD and ZP work, a proposal has been sent demanding an additional Rs 57 crore to repair national highways, Rs 23 to repair district roads and Rs 22 crore to repair State highways and Rs 52 crore to repair the bridges, he added.
