Society should teach the children to respect women: Sumithra Mahajan

Udupi: “We have to grow up in our mindset to honour the women and should teach our children to respect women,” said Lok Sabha Speaker Sumithra Mahajan. She was commenting on the molestation incidents at Bengaluru on New Year Eve.
Speaking to media persons, she said the police as well as the government should make safety of women a high priority. At the same time, the society per se should teach the children to honour and respect women, she advised.

Earlier, she received the blessings and felicitation by Paryaya Sri Vishwesha Thirtha Swamiji of Pejarwar Matt after she had a darshan of Sri Krishna Mukhyaprana.

Along with her MP Shobha Karandlaje, District BJP Committee President Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, former MLA Raghupathy Bhat, Udupi District BJP former chief Udayakumar Shetty, ZP member Geethanjali Suvarna and other BJP leaders were present.
