Udupi: The heavy downpour in the district has caused another landslide in the ghats. This time around, a landslide on the Agumbe Ghat blocked traffic since today (June 28).

The embankment on the seventh turn of the Agumbe Ghat gave way causing a minor landslide. As a preventive measure, the officials have closed the road for vehicle traffic. The closure of the highway that connects Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru districts to the coast has created problems to the commuters.

The district officials visited the spot and inspected the damage. They refused to comment on the opening of the road for vehicular traffic.
