Udupi: State revenue minister V. Srinivas Prasad on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed Circuit House in Udupi.
Later, speaking to the presspersons, he said there was a long discussion in the assembly session on Arkavathi land denotification. The claims of misuse of land by Chief Minister Siddaramaih is false, he said and added that a committee has been formed for judicial inquiry under Justice Kempanna who will submit their report at the earliest.

On former Chief Minister Kumaraswami’s comment against CM, the minister said he is raising the issue only for political benefits. “Those who have any evidence to prove CM’s involvement, they can inform the enquiry committee”, he added.
Regarding irregularities in land conversion or change of land at other reign, he said “There is no truth in all that. The members of the House should wait till the governor speaks. There is lots of opportunity for open discussion. People should give time for the CM to respond.”
He also denied the accusations of illegal de-notification by the government in any case. He also declared that every local villager’s opinion will be considered before implementing the Kasturirangan report in district level.
When questioned about ban on Pravin Togadia, he said that the decision has been taken in regards to law and order in the city. Congress believes in unity in diversity. As per the high court order Bengaluru police commissioner has taken the decision to ban his entry and our government agreed to it, he said.
The construction of the Circuit House building started in September 2014. The foundation stone was laid by the then minister the late Dr V S Acharya. The building has been constructed on total area of 1,639 sq mt at a cost of Rs 2.88 crore.
