Udupi: Indian Red Cross society Udupi unit, Rotary club International Udupi Manipal and Brahmavar organized Distribution of Nutrious food packets to Malnourished children at Red Cross Bhavan on December 31

Dr. Vishal R, Deputy Commissioner said that, supporting the weaker section of the society is the responsibility of every citizen. Poorer ones should also avail all the basic facilities because it is their right. The state government provides maximum support  to the poor section of the society. There are many special schemes to the upliftment of the women, children and physically disabled people.

He also added that at present non-government organizations play a very important role in this holy work.

Dr. Vjaya said that the society should have the knowledge that the weaker section does not expect sympathy but they need empathy. Sympathy make man helpless and empathy will make you help more and more people. Everyone needs to have a good health.

On the occasion, Pramod Madwaraja, MLA distributed the cycles to the beneficiaries. Cooking apron and accessories to Anganawadi helpers were also distributed.
