Udupi: “Is it possible to give away Kashmir to Pakistan for peace and prevent violence?” queried Paryaya Pejawar Mutt seer Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swami adding that just like Kashmir is India’s right similarly, Ram Janmabhoomi is the right of Hindus and it is impossible to give away the land to construct a mosque.

Citing that the inscriptions at the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi site prove the existence of temple, the seer maintained that the temple will be built on the site.

The seer, who recently hosted a Iftar party to set an example of religious co-existence, speaking to media persons here on Saturday said that a consensus on the issue cannot be achieved through violence.

Expressing regret over the stance maintained by few progressive thinkers who insist on achieving harmony at the cost of right, the seer asked if India should away Kashmir to Pakistan to maintain peace and prevent violence.

“Kashmir is India’s right. Similarly, Ram Mandir is the right of Hindus. The privilege of secularism should have limitations,”?he added.

The seer said that he does not envisage the country as purely the land of Hindus.
