Udupi: Five people were arrested on Thursday September 11, by the Udupi DCIB police in connection with the brutal Murder of Pitty Nagesh.

The arrested have been identified as Guruprasad Alevoor, Korangrapady Vishwanath, Munna, Santhosh of Nandagokula and Zakir Kukkikatte. Several assault weapons used in committing the crime were recovered by the police
Among them, Munna is said to have been the aide of Pitty Nagesh, but conspired against him. The prime accused in the murder Guruprasad Alevoor and Santhosh had carried out a murder attempt on Pitty Nagesh earlier too.
According to the source, Munna had visited him on Thursday and took him to a bar near Katapdy. After ensuring that Pitty was sufficiently drunk, he took him in a car to Udupi.
As per the plan, the car was waylaid at Udyawar and Pitty was brutally attacked and murdered. Munna and others then escaped in their Maruti 800 car. The police first arrested Guruprasad and then the others based on the information provided by him.
Superintendent of police of Udupi, P Rajendra Prasad confirmed the arrest and said that the interrogation is going on.
