Udupi: The Pilli Vesha forms an integral part of festivities in Dakshina Kannada. The traditional dance form is a treat to watch and people, specially kids often find themselves swaying to the drum beats.

However, on Friday, the tigers had a celebrity forgetting his status and matching steps and it is none other than former Union Minister Oscar Fernandes who could not resist joining the troupe of pilli vesha dancers who were performing here at the Udupi guest house on occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Fernandes, who was in the city was ecstatic to watch the tiger dance troupe to the extent that he suddenly took the dancers by surprise by dancing with them.

Fernandes is considered to be a down to earth politician who mixes around with people with ease.
