Udupi : Sri Vidyadeesha Tirtha Swamiji of Palimar Math was accorded a rousing welcome in the Temple Town of Udupi during Pura Pravesha ritual held on Wednesday, ahead of Paryaya festival to be held on Jan 18, 2018.

Sri Vidyadeesha Tirtha Swamiji was taken out in a decorated vehicle from Jodukatte in an elaborate procession designed and organised by Dr Mohan Alva of Alvas Education Foundation. The colourful procession passed through main junctions- Diana Circle, K M Marg, Triveni Circle, Sanskrit College and culminated at Car Street at Sri Krishna Math with various tableaus like Chalk Dolam from Alvas, Jaggalike team from Dharwad, Thaiyyamm, Poorna Kumba, Dollu Kunitha, Women’s Chande team, Bhajana team puppets, traditional brass band of Mother Theresa Brass band of Honnavar, NCC and Scouts cadets, Puthani and various others.

It was a marvellous sight to see Udupi Muslim Association members distribute lassi to devotees. Pramod Madhwaraj, District in-charge minister, Vinay Kumar Sorake, former minister and Kaup MLA, CMC Councilors, leading personalities like Bhaskar Rao Kidiyoor, Bhuvanendra Kidiyoor, Prof. M. B. Puranik, Vilas Nayak, Baikady Suprasad Shetty, Manohar Shetty of Sai Radha, Purushottam Shetty of Ujwal developers, Thingle Vikramarjun Hegde and others participated in the procession from Jodukatte to Car Street.

Later, Sri Vidyadeesha Tirtha Swamiji visited the Kanaka Kindi along with devotees of Sri Krishna.?
