Udupi: The Revenue Department under Acts 94C and 94CC of the revenue Act will pass orders on the issue of title deeds in respect of agricultural land and house sites that have been encroached upon and justice will be meted to the actual beneficiaries, said Kagodu Thimmappa, Minister for Revenue, Karnataka State.
He was addressing a meeting after reviewing the revenue department forms 50,53,94C and 94CC of Rajathadri, Manipal at the Udupi Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Thursday, March 9. He said the orders will benefit of applicants who applied for the title deeds of agricultural and house sites. The surplus government land will be identified under the Special Rights Act and distributed among beneficiaries, he added.
He said the Cabinet Sub-committee was conducting a review of Kumki and deemed forest land and a decision would be taken within fifteen days. “The Supreme Court has declared that Kumki land belongs to the government and so circular will be sent in this regard. The instructions have to be implemented in toto thereafter,” he said.
Thimmappa also disclosed that under the Forest Rights Act, jurisdictional forest committees could receive applications as per requirement. Already a circular to exempt pasture has been sent. He said all the Tahsildars should read it carefully and follow the instructions. The applications will be accepted from those eligible beneficiaries who have not submitted yet due to ignorance.
Discussions on Podi free villages, pension adalat, social security programmes, surveyors, approval of posts and reservation of land for students’ hostels were held at the meeting. Meanwhile, Pramod Madhwaraj, District In-charge Minister, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Haladi Srinivas Shetty and Gopal Poojary brought to the notice of the revenue minister the Akrama Sakrama committee sittings and problems of people under his jurisdiction.
Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis, , Additional Deputy Commissioner Anuradha, Assistant Commissioner Shilpa Nag, Ashok Kumar Shetty, tahsildars, taluk panchayat executive officers and district level officers were present in the meeting.
