Udupi: Prior To the Paryaya Peetha ascension of Sri Vidyaheeshateertha Swamiji of Palimar Math next year, the third of the four rituals, “Kattige Muhurta’ was held at the Math premises on Sunday, August 27, 2017.

Bundles of firewood placed on heads were taken in a procession from Palimar Math. The procession accompanied by musical instruments moved ahead after prayers were offered at Lord Ananthewara, Lord Chandramouleshwara, Mukhyaprana and Vrindavana temples by the Math Diwan Shibarur Vedavyasa Tantri. Meanwhile, prayers were also offered at Sri Krishna Math.

The bundles of firewood were stacked at a spot near the Sri Krishna Math Go Shala in the shape of a chariot. It is mandatory for completion of accumulation of firewood like a canopy before the next ritual-Bhatta Muhurta is held.
