Manipal: In a tragic incident in Manipal near here, a student lost his life and three others were injured after a car hit a divider and toppled late on Saturday night, September 29. The accident occurred near the DC’s office in Manipal.

The deceased has been identified as Ivan Anil Kumar from Kannur, Kerala who is a third-year engineering student at NITK.

It is learnt that the car in which Anil and his three friends, Deepika, Irene and Varun Vijith, were plying, first hit the divider and then toppled, sending Anil flying out of the car, killing him instantly. The others have sustained serious injuries and are admitted at Manipal KMC Hospital.

Manipal Police are currently investigating the case.
