Karkala: The NHAI is silent on the numerous potholes that dot the Pulkeri By-pass road NH, which is making travel on this road a nightmarish experience.
The road has been damaged due to heavy rains. Locals have put up flexes warning commuters to drive safely. They have also kept coconut palms as a protection.

Even after a week, the department has not taken any action to repair the road which is dangerous for two-wheelers and three-wheelers and even worse, for pedestrians.
Everyday thousands of vehicles pass by this road. Every vehicle passing here has to pay the price due to these potholes. When there is no electricity in the night commuters will be in trouble.
There has been an increasing demand from the public, particularly motorists to free the road of the potholes. Will the pleas of the citizens and commuters move the authorities to action? Only time will tell.
