Udupi: The School of Communication organised three day annual shopping festival ‘Namma Angadi’ from March 13 to 15 at MIC college premises.
Manipal University Pro Chancellor Dr H S Ballal inaugurated the fest. Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies, director Varadesh Heergange and CWC Executive Director Damodhar Acharya were guests of honour on the occasion.

Namma Angadi comprised of new range of products including ethnic garments for men and women, children, fashionable fabric sling bags, backpacks, table runners, laptop sleeves etc.
Besides traditional garments terracotta jewellery, homemade products and furniture attracted the visitors.
It is one of the best shopping experience said students of the college. The traditional shops with the theme, ‘shop Local’ entertained all.
School of Communication Director Dr Nandini Laxmikantha said that the event intended to create retail opportunities for local artisans and craftsmen and also promise pleasurable shopping and outing experience.
The products on sale are often made by children from the vocational training centre.
