Muslim brethren hold ‘Jihad against terrorism’

Karkala: Hundreds of Muslims today joined hands to proclaim that Islam has no place for terrorism and the religion does not support any act of terror.
The historic meet and cycle rally was witnessed at Edu village here on Sunday. The event was ‘Jihad against Terrorism’, which was organised by various Muslim organization.

Addressing the gathering writer and SSF State leader Hussein Saadi said that act of a section of people has been harming Muslim across the world.

“The world today looks at all Muslims with suspicion. Jihad is not terrorism for sure, Jihad is something that is related to emotions. Way back in 14th century Prophet Mohommed had made it clear that terrorists and communalists do not belong to Islam,” he said adding that Islam  is a religion that propagates and preaches peace.

“The ISIS is in no way connected to Islam,” he said calling upon each and every Muslim to oppose the ISIS which is tarnishing Islam. He held the ISIS responsible for the sorry state that Muslims across the world are living in and said that youth must be told about the real essence of Islam so that they do not fall prey to the false calling of the ISIS to save the religion.

Sheikh Moideen Jumma Masjid Khathib Ashraf Madani, Presidnt Abubakker Siddiq Gumpakallu, Secretary M H Hasan Ahmed among others were present.
