Udupi: “A permanent solution for the sea erosion and fishermen’s issue will be prioritized assured Udupi – Chikmagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje.








After her visit to the erosion affected areas at Kaup -Paduthottam, Padukere, and Yermal, she said temporary arrangements are waste of money as it is not effective practically.
She opinioned that break water is not a solution for erosion, it divert the sport from one area to another, thus a permanent solution will be the best option.
She said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is well aware of the problem of erosion as he belongs to the state, which stretches across the sea. She assured that PM will introduce a sophisticated technology which has been adopted in other countries.
She added in India 10 States and 3 Union Territories undergo sea-erosion problem.
Further she said local fishermen have very good knowledge over the issues regarding sea-erosion. Problems faced by fishermen like CRZ will be discussed in central level.
Simultaneously the initiative of a sophisticated harbor at Udupi will also come true soon, she added.
