MIT faculty’s book on journey into Himalayas released

Manipal: “Uncharted: My journey into the Himalayas” authored by Ganesh Nayak, the 152nd publication of Manipal Universal Press was released by Dr Vinod V Thomas, Registrar-Evaluation, Manipal Academy of Higher Education on Saturday at Manipal Institute of Technology here.

The book explores life, its challenges and great adventures as the author recalls his days as a student. The book does not miss out on the author’s battle with smoking and his great adventures as a cyclist. It captures Ganesh’s journey from being a student at Manipal Institute of Technology to a faculty member at the same institution.

Dr Srikant Rao, Director, MIT Manipal spoke about how Ganesh is a source of inspiration to the student community. He also spoke about how Ganesh changed his lifestyle to lead a more healthy and rewarding life, and said that it is an example for every student to follow.

Joint Director, MIT, Dr B H Venkataram Pai and Head of Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Dr Dayanand Nair also addressed the gathering.

Dr Praveen Shetty welcomed the gathering. Anish Pai, president of MIT’s official cycling club, Human Powered Endeavours, proposed the vote of thanks.
