Udupi: Miscreant pelted stones at the Adi Udupi Narul Islam Mosque near Udupi here on Saturday, January 28.

The matter came to light only during wee hours of Sunday when the Imam came over to the mosque at about 5 am to perform the early morning Namaz. Window panes and glasses were broken. The entire crime scene, which has been recorded in the CCTV camera at the Mosque shows one individual arriving on a motorbike at about 12.16 am and vandalising the exteriors of the mosque.

Kumaraswamy DySP of Udupi, Naveenchandra CPI Udupi, Shrikanth CPI Brahmavar, Maheshchandra Tahsildar and other top police officials visited the spot and collected the information on the incident and also CCTV footage from the Mosque administration.

A case has been registered in Udupi Town Police Station.
