Karkala: A male leopard was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Killabettu in Nitte on Sunday, February 14.

The 8-year-old leopard was found dead in a private land belonging to Balakrishna Hegde.

Forest officials and veterinary doctors visited the spot and have taken the leopard for postmortem.

The past few months have seen several cases of missing domestic animals in Nitte. The reason for this has been attributed to the several leopards that have been spotted in the area.
