Manipal: The most popular project of the state government, Indira Canteen was launched at Ward No. 18, Manipal Ward, DC Office Road here on February 27, by Pramod Madhwaraj, Minister for Fisheries, Sports and Youth Empowerment and District In-charge Minister.

The canteen will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner to the local people at subsidised rates. Idlis and coconut chutney along with a variety rice dishes will be served at breakfast while for lunch and dinner, rice, sambar, curd rice, tomato bath and a few other items will be served.

Breakfast will be served from 7.30 AM to 9.30 AM, lunch from 12.30 PM to 3 PM and dinner from 7.30 PM to 9 PM. Breakfast will cost Rs 5/- while lunch and dinner will cost Rs 10.

Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje, CMC President; Sandhya Tilakraj, Vice President of CMC; Priyanka Mary Francis, Deputy Commissioner; Manjunathaiah, CMC Commissioner; CMC councillors Ramesh Kanchan, Ganesh Nergi, Celine Karkada, Janaki Sherigar, Yuvaraj, Hermis Noronha and others were present.

The other location of Indira Canteen will be in the premises of Board School, near the service bus station in the heart of Udupi.
