Udupi: In a tense situation in Udupi, local police resorted to lathi-charging a crowd that attempted to assault Praveen Arun Chowgale, the accused in the Nejaru Murder Case.

The police had brought Chowgale to the crime scene for investigation, leading to an angry mob gathering during the process. The crowd expressed outrage, demanding that the accused be handed over to them.

When the crowd attempted to assault the accused after the inquest, the police intervened with lathi charges to disperse the crowd. Subsequently, a sit-in protest was staged by the mob condemning the police action.
