Kundapur : Kundapur taluk is observing a bundh on Wednesday July 23  demanding speedy and thorough investigation into the Ratna Kottari (17) death case. The bundh call is given by  Raitha Sangha of Kundapur taluk, Byndoor Hiriya Nagarika Vedike and other  organisations.

The bundh is being observed as the police investigation into the  suspicious death of Ratna, a PU student and resident of Alandur Konanamakki in Shiroor  has failed to make headway even several days after the incident came to light.

The bundh call has evoked a good response with most of the shops and business establishments remaining closed. Even buses are off the roads. Schools and colleges too are shut after a holiday was declared.

Police have maintained strict vigil in the town to avert any untoward incident. Several student organisations are also planning a protest during the day.
