Kodagu SP escapes car crash by a skin of the teeth

Kundapur: The SUV in which Kodagu District Superintendent of Police, Rajendra Prasad was travelling hit a bus head on at Jaladi near Tallur on National Highway 66. The SP sustained minor bruises while the driver of the SUV got some injuries.

The private registered Mahindra XUV 500 car had a head on collision with ‘Ram Ramesh’ bus when the SP was on his way to Bhatkal. It was said that the driver of Prasad’s car was over-speeding when the accident took place.

According to sources, the SP was heading to Murudeshwar. The accident occurred when Prasad’s driver was trying to overtake a long multi-utility vehicle which was infront of them. As the driver was overtaking the MUV, the SP’s car brushed against the other and hit an oncoming private bus.

The driver of Prasad’s car has been hospitalized and a case has been booked at the Police station in Kundapur.
